Career

She made her acting debut in the 2002 Telugu film Nee Thodu Kaavali, in which she acted as a housewife at a young age of 15. This film was a flop, but helped Charmme in getting noticed by the south Indian film industry. Her next film was Kadhal Azhivathillai with Silambarasan, which was also a flop. During this time she acted in a Malayalam film directed by Vinayan named Kattuchembakam. This film also bombed in box office. After that she acted in a couple more Tamil films but they bombed at the box office.

Her re-entry to Telugu films happened with Neeke Manasichhaanu a film with Sreekanth which was a failure; then in Sri Anjaneyam, directed by ace director Krishna Vamsi which too was a failed attempt. It was followed by another failure with Chanti, paired against Ravi Teja. She finally got a big break in Telugu with Gowri in which she was paired with Sumanth. She didn't have to look back afterwards. The stupendous success of Mass with Nagarjuna strengthened her position in Tollywood. Charmme's most critically acclaimed film so far is Anukokunda Oka Roju. It was a heroine-oriented thriller. Her performance in the film was acclaimed by critics.

leana D'Cruz is an Indian film actress who has done many Telugu, Tamil movies. She debuted in Bollywood with Barfii.

She made her Telugu language début through Y.V.S. Chowdhary's Devadasu opposite newcomer, Ram but has also done a Tamil language film and has recently signed a Hindi language film.

D'Cruz was born in Mumbai in India of Goan parentage. Her father is a Roman Catholic father Ronaldo Leo, a lawyer and mother, Sameera a Muslim.[citation needed] Her parents named her name after Ileana (Helen of Troy) from Greek mythology.

She has three sisters and two brothers.

She debuted in the Telugu language film Devadasu in 2006 directed by Y.V.S. Chowdhary who spotted her in a Fair and Lovely ad film directed by Rakesh Roshan . The film did not get good reviews from the critics, but it was a success at the box-office and Ileana attracted a lot of attention for her charm and beauty.

Her breakthrough came with her second Telugu film where she essayed the role of Shruti opposite Mahesh Babu in the highly successful Pokiri. The film gained her good reviews.. She then made her Tamil language film debut alongside Ravi Krishna in Kedi. Although the film did not do so well at the box-office, Ileana was sought after by many directors[who?] and actors in Tamil for films which she eventually rejected due to her commitments in Telugu . Recently she acted with Pawan Kalyan in the movie Jalsa. She currently signed a Tamil film opposite Vijay. She also signed a film against Manchu Vishnu Vardhan being directed by YVS Choudary which is tentatively titled as "Saleem". She was recently commented upon by her co-star in Aata Sidharth Narayan that she was not a talented person
